# Lyssna (Listen)

> Sveriges Radio's 2021 brand campaign about what listening does for us: helps us understand, feel, and come a little closer to each other. I edited and graded the films, from the 30-second spot to the six-second social cuts.

## The challenge

Sveriges Radio wanted to remind people why listening matters, not just which station to tune in to. The campaign launched on 1 March 2021 across TV, news sites and social, so a radio brand had to work in pictures, and the same idea had to hold up at 30, 15 and 6 seconds.

## The approach

The 30-second film moves through everyday listening: two friends lying on a jetty, a couple at the breakfast table with the radio on, a driver alone at night, a crowd singing at a concert, while Rolf Lassgård's voice-over builds to the line “Att lyssna är att komma varandra närmare” (to listen is to come closer to each other). I cut it to breathe with the voice and the orchestral score, and graded scenes shot in very different light (daylight on the water, a dark car, purple stage lights) into one warm, close world.

For social, each line got its own six-second film in square and vertical: “Att lyssna är att känna” (to feel), “…att förstå” (to understand) and “…att komma varandra närmare”.
